UK 4-piece Sea Girls are the band bringing back real raw excitement to the music scene with their high-energy performances and jagged songs.

In the greatest tradition of an alternative indie rock and pop band, Henry Camamile (lead vocals, rhythm), Rory Young (lead guitar), Andrew Dawson (bass) and Oliver Khan (drums) all met at school in Leicestershire. The four friends bonded over a shared love of music citing influences from Bloc Party to The Arctic Monkeys and The Killers. At the time, several of the members were in different bands but after Henry managed to secure a small gig through pulling in as many favours as possible, Sea Girls – named after a misheard lyric from a Nick Cave song - were born in 2015.

The charismatic Henry recalls: “It was basically us and a few other people in a very small room. We’d never played before but we just gave it everything we’d got and that was when I knew that for me this was the only thing I wanted to do.” The band continued playing gigs with Henry writing songs obsessively – documenting the growing pains of his life; from having his heart broken to burying his sorrows in partying – into brilliant anthemic songs from All I Want To Hear You Say, Call Me Out and Damage Done through to newer brutally honest and raw songs Sick, Hometown and Lonely. He admits all his writing – and their performing – comes right from the heart. “I don’t buy all the love and flowers stuff. Real relationships fall apart, you get hurt and you have to deal with it so you do what you have to do to get over it. I think what has really saved me is music. We’ve worked so hard to get here. We’re so clear-headed about where we want to go, where we want to be and what we want to say”

The fan buzz started and love continues to grow in earnest;. Sea Girls have now played main stages at UK festivals inc. Reading and Leeds festival and supported The Foals on tour. Successfully selling out their headline Academy tour in 2021, despite all the pandemic could throw at them, Sea Girls are set to play their biggest UK headline tour later this year including London’s Alexandra Palace. Unsigned the band were included in the BBC's Sound of 2019 poll as well as predicted to be one of the most successful acts of 2019 by the NME, The Independent, Time Out, Radio X and Dork. Wonderland Magazine described them as “set for greatness”. They were signed by Polydor Records and Sony Music Publishing in May 2019, allowing Henry to give up his job as a bar man to focus on being a musician full time.

Broken and Kerouac-esque lyrics aside, it was however, their insane live performances as a band who took to touring around Britain that kick-started a massive following and mutual love with fans. Their debut single and 4 track EP Call Me Out was released in 2017 followed by a second EP, Heavenly War, in 2018 featuring the singles Heavenly War, Lost and What For. A third EP Adored was released soon after with final pre debut album EP Under Exit Lights released on the eve of 2020 Covid-19 pandemic hitting the UK. Unperturbed August 2020 saw Sea Girls eagerly awaited debut album `Open Up Your Head’ released entering the UK Official Album Chart at #3 and UK Official Record Store Chart at #1 sitting comfortably next to Biffy Clyro and Taylor Swift. Now a BRITS Certified Breakthrough album `Open Up Your Head 'is a heartfelt beast that isn’t afraid of dreaming big. Introspective anthems for anxious times; no wonder it’s connecting with fans`(NME).
Championing the resurgence of British guitar bands Sea Girls have announced details of their second studio album `Homesick’. The new album, recorded remotely between South London’s rainy Brixton and contrasting sunny California, first tasters Hometown Again Again plus Sick premiered as Radio 1 Clara Amfo and guest DJ Arlo Parks Hottest Record In The World.
