Welcome Event - Gardening and bat talk

Saturday 03 October 2020, 1pm - 3:30pm

Global Gardens Allotment

Event Information

This is the first session this academic year with the Global Gardens project. The welcome event will include a bat talk with a local consultant Ecologist. Find out why bats are so protected and important in the British ecosystem. There will be a live bat as part of the talk but you will not be handling this bat. As part of this talk, you can learn how to make your university gardens more wildlife-friendly to animals such as hedgehogs and bees. You will also be able to find out more about the project and do some gardening.

The session will be held in the Global Garden's Garden and will be limited to 10 people. All volunteers must adhere to strict social distancing measures by staying 2m apart unless from the same household. Face coverings are also strongly advised. Please wear sensible clothing and shoes for gardening.

To book on to this session please sign up for the Global Gardens project and buy your free ticket to the event. You will then receive an email from the lead volunteer or Cardiff Volunteering coordinator confirming your place. DO NOT turn up to this session without this confirmation as you will be turned away and this may prohibit you from attending other Cardiff Volunteering project sessions.

IF YOU HAVE NOT SECURED YOUR TICKET AND WOULD LIKE TO BE PUT ON THE RESERVE LIST PLEASE EMAIL VOLUNTEERING@CARDIFF.AC.UK
