Free Travel to People's Vote March in London

Saturday 23 March 2019, 7am - 9pm

Hyde Park, London

Event Information

The People's Vote campaign is providing free coach travel for students to London on Saturday 23rd March to participate in a huge march for a People's Vote on Brexit. Last November 700,000 people marched through the streets of London to call for a democratic say on Brexit. This time, its predicted to be even bigger.

Expect a fun day out in London as you participate in an historic march and hear from leading national figures supporting a People's Vote.

On 11th December 2018 a motion was submitted to student senate by Julia Rooke, International Students’ Officer, mandating Cardiff University Students’ Union to support the People’s Vote campaign. The motion was passed by the Student Senators who attended and is now in force.

The People’s Vote campaign calls upon the UK government to give the British people a vote on the Brexit deal now that the government’s negotiations with the European Union have concluded. The campaign is being supported by politicians from across the political spectrum, Leave and Remain voters and by a diverse group of organisations including the Royal College of GPs, the British Youth Council and other Students’ Unions’ across the UK.

The spaces on this coach are being provided for free by the People's Vote campaign. For those students who wish to get involved with supporting a People's Vote, this is a great opportunity to take part in an historic event.

Please email Mitchell.theaker@peoples-vote.uk before 20th March to reserve your place. Make sure to mention you are a Cardiff University student. Please only ask for a place if you are sure you can attend, so the maximum number of students who want to can attend.

The coach will leave from the back of the Students' Union in Senghennydd Road at 7am on the 23rd. The march will leave Hyde Park at noon. The coach will leave London at 6pm, arriving back in Cardiff at around 9pm.
