STAND UP IN THE PARK

Join us for a night of comedy and awareness, throwing a spotlight on the plight of Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. The second “Naz Night” of comedy at the Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival on Sunday 24 June will feature an eclectic selection of superb comics, compered once again by the outstanding Clint Edwards.

Cardiff Amnesty are also inviting you to share your favourite jokes on the night. We are asking you to tweet your joke – or just something that makes you laugh or smile – on 24 June using the hashtags #ChooseLaughter and #FreeNazanin in support of Nazanin and her family.

ABOUT NAZANIN’S CASE

Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe is a British-Iranian national who was arrested in Tehran on 3 April 2016 when returning to the UK from a family holiday with her young daughter Gabriella. Following an unfair trial conducted in secret, she was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment for unspecified national security crimes which has resulted in a serious deterioration of her mental and physical health. She remains in prison, separated from her now three-year-old daughter and from her husband.

To get involved or to learn more contact Owen at amnesty.cardiff@btinternet.com or visit the Cardiff Amnesty website here. Please also sign the petition here calling for Nazanin’s release.
